2007 American Bullriders Tour
Finals
Results. It was
an exciting weekend as Corey Atwell and Brian Tipton
made worthy opponents as they ca me
into the finals practically neck and neck
for the national title.
Right out of the chute North
Carolinian Cory Atwell started off with a bang when he
drew
Ken Treadway's 105 "Pretty Boy Floyd" to win the first go-around with 81 points.
Brian Tipton was not as lucky
when he failed to make the 8 on his first go-round bull #60 "Quick Draw"
Dwight Milsaps and David Pearce
split 2nd & 3rd in the first go both making great rides. John Mastrangelo won
4th with 74 points while Jordan Pyeatt, riding "Cowtowns Delight" won 5th,
with Shane Barratiere going to the pay windows in 6th place with 72 points.
By the second night things
really heated up while Eddie Parlier Held the high score in the second round of
the long go for 81 points on h23 "Fandango" with Brian Tipton on a close 2nd on
#78 "Wolverine" for 80 points.
Oklahoman and 3 time NFR
qualifier Chris Littlejohn made the 8 for 75 points in the long go but due to an
injury had to turn out in the short go.
Former IPRA World Champion Josh
Reed of Springfield, TN made a good ride on #446 "Bad Medicine" in the long go
but was unseated by "Western Way" in the short go.
Jordan Pyeatt of Toccoa, GA
rode Jeff Robinson's bull "Crossroads" to win 2nd in the long go Saturday which
helped to cinch the average for Pyeatt! After having covered 3 bulls over the
weekend Jordan took home the ABT Finals Average Buckle.
Brian Tipton, having just
returned from the International Finals Rodeo in Oklahoma City, won the long go
on Ken Treadway's #9 "Red Bull" thus winning 2nd in the average. That win edged
Corey Atwell out for the national title and buckle. Brian goes back to
Tennessee the ABT National Champion.
Hank
Tiller of Commerce, GA was awarded the ABT's Sportsmanship Award.
Jordan Pyeatt received the
"Most Dedicated Bull Rider" award while, David Hammonds received the "Hard Luck"
award after his extensive bull riding injuries that he is still recovering from.
Best ABT Event for 2007 , voted
on by the cowboy's was won by "The Moncks Corner Pro Rodeo"
